2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Dodge Ram Heavy Duty pickups benefit in two ways for 2008 from an available 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel. One benefit is power: 350 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Another is low emissions: pickups equipped with the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel already meet 2010 federal emissions standards.

New for 2008, is the new SXT model, joining the ST, SLT, Laramie, Power Wagon and TRX4 Off-Road models, along with 7-inch by 10-inch exterior trailer tow mirror standard on 2500/3500 models.

The standard powerplant is the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, delivering 345 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque. A choice of transmissions is offered: a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an available six-speed automatic with Electronic Range Select.

Inside is Dark Maple Burl wood grain accents for 2500/3500 Laramie models, with a Tire Pressure Monitoring system standard on models with less than 10,000 pounds GVWR. An electric-shift transfer case is standard on 4x4 SLT and Laramie.

The Dodge Ram pickups are available in Regular Cab, Quad Cab or Power Wagon configurations, single rear-wheel or Dually. Two transfer cases are available on Dodge Ram 2500/3500 for four-wheel drive models. One features manual shift, the other electric shift-on-the-fly capability.
